Working with the Golden Rule…..do unto others..

Bernadette shared, “Much of what the church is teaching us seems to be kind of negative, ‘don’t do this, or look at this problem side.’ When I was confirmed I decided to put another message on my wall in my room, and also on my facebook wall. The Golden Rule is, WHATEVER YOU WISH THAT PEOPLE WOULD DO TO YOU, DO SO FOR THEM.  It has been my motto for 5 years now and I learned it from George. Once at school when I was with a group who wanted to go drinking during break, George was the one who stopped me. He knew I wasn’t that kind of girl but was just trying to keep up with the rest.”

Whatever you wish that people would do to you, do so for them, for this is the law and the prophets. Enter by the narrow gate for the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. From Matt 7:12-14.

Pope Francis:  Young people experience setbacks, disappointments and profoundly painful memories.  Often they feel the hurt of past failures, frustrated desires, discrimination and injustice, of feeling unloved and unaccepted. Jesus makes his presence felt amid these crosses. He offers them his friendship, consolation and healing companionship.   CV 83.
