20th October. What church and why? “Why do people go to some churches and not others?  Is it the quality of the preaching, the personality of the preacher, the type of worship with quiet, or song and dance, the healing that they are seeking, or the message that speaks to them in their hearts?”   This kind of debate was being held all over, as new churches are blossoming and more traditional churches are finding they are losing members.   Fr Jabulani said, “You could ask what attracted people to Jesus, because his message wasn’t easy.  People crowded round Jesus to hear his wisdom. The leaders then became jealous because he was popular and spoke in a way that made easy to understand serious things.  He challenged them but at the same time told them how valuable and loved they were to God.  Where and how do we find acceptance and feel like that?”

Reflect, share, act. Scripture Even the hairs of your head are numbered. You are of more value than many sparrows. From Luke12:1-7 Pope Francis. God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.  It is striking that the image of God here refers to the couple, male and female.  Inasmuch as God is creator the fruitfulness of the human couple is a living and effective image, a visible sign of his creative act.   AL 10.  If the music of the Gospel ceases to sound in our homes, our public squares, our workplaces, our political and financial life, then we will no longer hear the strains that challenge us to defend the dignity of every man and woman.   FT277. Pray: Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful, and kindle in us the fire of your love, so that walking together we may renew the face of the earth.
