Promise referred the group to a famous song called ‘The Sound of Silence.’  “In one’s mind it creates almost a frightening picture. The words include “people talking without speaking, people hearing without listening.”  But in the silence one imagines destruction, no bird-calls, no animal sounds,  no sound even of wind or water, just a deadly silence.  However, nowadays we are so bombarded  with noise at all times of the day and even at night that silence could be welcome, when not frightening.  Let’s work on that and how to really listen. “

Pope Francis. Peace “must be built up continually” it is a journey made together in constant pursuit of the common good, truthfulness and respect for law. Listening to one another can lead to mutual understanding and esteem, and even to seeing in an enemy the face of a brother or sister.  World Day of Prayer for Peace 5
