The little whiles of our lives

May 21, 2020

Ascension Thursday is transferred to Sunday.  “A little while and you will see me no more, again a little while and you will see me.“  When the group read the passage from John about “a little while” they smiled at how the apostles’ discussion with Jesus was going, especially as Jesus didn’t really answer their question clearly.  He just went on about sorrow and joy.  “Maybe unique times like the Year of  Mercy, or even the very traumatic time when globally the world is dealing with the ravages of a natural disaster like the corona virus are a “little while to be extra conscious.” They are certainly ways to grow in faith and experience Jesus more closely than when things carry on as usual.”   “I think that devotions like Divine Mercy or to Our Lady or the Sacred Heart are also ways to bring us closer to Jesus.” “It seems we all respond to different things in our own way and our own time.”

“A little while and you will see me no more and then again a little while and you will see me. “John 16:16-20.

Pope Francis: What Christians all need is an ecological conversion whereby the effects of their encounter with Jesus Christ become evident in their relationship with the world around them.  LS217. Offer a prayer to Our Lady.
