Learning to Love begins in a Family.

Jack explained, These last holidays were an interesting time for us with a large extended family meeting together.  It really made us realise there is work to be done on our relationships.  Mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law,  sisters and sisters-in-law,   brothers too didn’t always see eye to eye.  For some there were long-term feuds that come to the surface at times. We all went happily to Church over Christmas and claim to live our faith, but is that the reality, or is having those conflicts a normal family situation, but one that still needs to be addressed?”

We love God, because he first loved us. If any one says, “I love God,” and hates his brother he is a liar. For he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen.   1 John 4:19

Pope Francis.  The first setting in which faith enlightens the human city is the family.  Absorbed and deepened in the family faith becomes a light capable of illumining all our relationships in society.  As an experience of the mercy of God the Father, it sets us on the path of brotherhood.
