The group commented that healing Masses are becoming more and more popular these days. One way said, “Is it because that is what people are asking for from religion, and do people really get healed in the way that Jesus healed?” Someone else shared, “I’m sad that my teenage kids have gone to one of these new churches that focus more on healing.” Others added, “What concerns me is whether there are still demoniacs today. I have heard of strange cases.” “Maybe there is a lot of healing to be done in the whole of creation too, don’t you think?”
At that time Jesus heard that John had been arrested so he withdrew into Galilee. He went about teaching in their synagogues and preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease. They brought him all the sick, those with various diseases and pains, demoniacs, epileptics, and paralytics and he healed them. Matthew 4:23-25.
Pope Francis. The light of faith does not make us forget the sufferings of this world. To those who suffer God does not provide arguments which explain everything, rather his response is that of an accompanying presence, a history of goodness which touches every story of suffering and opens up a ray of light.
