NINTH STATION – JESUS FALLS THE THIRD TIME
NARRATOR 1. WHEN YOU FALL GET UP AND GO ON. “Jesus we honour you.” Response: “Thank you Lord Jesus for all you have done for us.” When I have tried something and failed how often am I willing to try again, or do I give up easily? When children learn to walk they fall and get up many times. Sportsmen practice regularly. In following Jesus’ way it is not enough to say I tried once – to do a difficult exercise, or to make up after a fight. We have to learn to keep on trying, even to the point of always being the first one to say sorry.
NARRATOR 2. Near the top of the hill of the crucifixion Jesus fell one more. He had see his mother and the other mothers and their children crying for him, some like Simon and Veronica had helped him, but many people just ignored him and pushed past in the streets not caring. All this was too much for him, and he fell again but he knew too that he had to get up and go on.
LEADER: PRAY. Dear Father, forgive me for the times I have given up too soon. I will try to follow Jesus way and get up when I fall and keep on trying.
Pope Francis: The first step on our path of conversion is to look at ourselves, to feel ashamed because of our sins, to accuse rather than justify ourselves and ask for mercy and forgiveness. .
