Epiphany. Thought for the Day 7 January. “Ubuntu- Families Do Matter”

Paul thought, “Pope Francis appears to be very open to other Christian religions and also to some so-called non-Christians.  I find it very confusing as we were brought up to believe that the Catholic Church is the only true church. Now in my family we have people of all religions.”  They discussed this at home and in their faith sharing group.  Moyra summed it up by saying that we have every right to be committed to our faith but Pope Francis is asking for tolerance towards others and not to fight about such matters.  Ubuntu  is tolerance too.

Beloved do not believe every spirit but test the spirits to see whether they are of God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.  By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit which confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God. 1 John 3:22 – 4:6.

Pope Francis.  Interreligious dialogue is a necessary condition for peace in the world and so it is a duty for Christians as well as other religious communities.   Eg250
