Discernment. Family Thought May 10

Paul told his children,  “In previous eras voters belonging to any party would have tended to vote as their families had done.  Wide media coverage of modern elections by different parties and even factions within parties all trying to persuade the population to accept their particular perspective necessitates a more mature insight.  What causes people to change their minds about issues in politics or religion or things like climate change or how to invest your money?  Is there sufficient study, discussion and reflection or are we swayed by the best salesman/woman?”

Saul said, “Who are you Lord,” and he said, “I am Jesus whom you are persecuting, but rise and enter the city and you will be told what to do.”  Acts 9-1-20

Pope Francis: Responsible citizenship is a virtue and participation in political life a moral obligation.  Becoming people is an ongoing process in every generation, with a willingness to achieve this through a culture of encounter.  EG 220.

Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us.
