A Nerd’s prayer
Sport is confusing Lord for a guy like me
I’m not good at it, don’t have the build,
but to be admired you have to shine,
be first in line.

Don’t say I don’t like sport, Oh Lord, I do
I can get excited about a well-played match
But to make it with your mates you have to know
Be on the go.

Drug-free prep and fair play matter, Lord, to me. 
I want to see the heights these guys and girls can reach   
I’m interested technically, I’m really quite a nerd
you may have heard.

Put your mantle of care over all that are there
The players, coaches, managers, all
May they see your hand spread out everywhere

All-wise and provident God,
Many people are coming together to this important event
The whole world is watching and
