CO-PARENTING

God smiles on the love of a couple
And makes them parents-to-be.
As they labour along with Him on His plan
His presence with them they will see.

God smiles at the birth of a baby
And the joy that in all there abounds.
When they gaze at this miracle, fruit of their love
They'll know then for sure He's around.

God smiles as they nurture their infant
Through babyhood, childhood and on.
All the while He is there, in their home, at their side
As each little battle is won.

There are times when God bursts into laughter
At the antics of parents and kids
And he happily joins in the party
Cause he loves being there in their midst.

God's smile becomes one of compassion
When things at times do go wrong
And they ask for His help from the depth of their hearts
Knowing that He was there all along.

God's features slip into a wry smile
When they turn away, leave him behind
And He knows He'll be there in their time of great need
And forgive them and have to be kind.

'Cause He's a dad too just remember
He knew Adam and David and all
And his most painful task was to give us His son
To redeem us from our sinful fall.
