  PARADISE
  For whom did you create this paradise,
  this paradise of colour
  this floral profusion
  outpouring of the profusion of your love?
  Was it for me…….alone,
  for me and them………. those others sharing a day of life?

  At first it was for Adam and Eve in harmonious union with nature .
  But did the very profusion result in their greed
  wanting more although they had so much,
  only lacking perfect knowledge?

  Here and now glimpses of paradise recur
  in the special abundance of nature’s spring
  glowing, yellow and orange and pink,
  quieter blues, occasional reds and every hue
  against the greenness of lifeand the brown-grey of rocky hills
  in the golden sun.

  What about Adam and what about Eve
  Adam and Adam, Eve and Eve,
  children and youth, men and women of our time?
  What is their sin today?
  What is the apple, who the tempter?
  Lack of love, of generosity in profusion,
  neglect, rejection, selfishness or fear?

  Paradise exists,
  but paradise is lost and found, again and again,
  as man and woman learn the intricacies of relationships
  of loving well all that you, God, created
  out of love, for love.
